Success Achieved In Future Environments (S.A.F.E) is a private, 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit organization serving the youth of the Kansas City, Kansas metro area since 2009. Unlike other area youth sports organizations, S.A.F.E receives no federal, state or local tax dollars. S.A.F.E offers baseball/softball to inner city youth through its KCK RBI (Kansas City Kansas Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) program which directs the activities of more than 40 teams and over 650 players. KCK RBI is the only little league in the state of Kansas affiliated with Major League Baseball.

First basemen meets with KCK RBI youth
Dodgers minor-league first baseman Justin Chigbogu recently met with youth in the KCK RBI program at the Kensington Gym, Kansas City, Kan.
 

With its fourth-round selection in last year’s 2012 first year player draft, the Los Angeles Dodgers drafted first baseman Chigbogu, a three-sport athlete (football, basketball, baseball) out of Raytown South (Mo.) High School.

Tony Gwynn speaks to KCK RBI youth

In 2012, 18 KCK RBI youth(The Classic 18) were given the opportunity to play in the Jr. RBI Classic sponsored by Major League Baseball.  
 The Classic 18
attended and participated in MLB All-Star Week events like MLB All-Star FanFest, FanFest Legends Clinics, Taco Bell All-Star Sunday, XM All-Star Futures Game, Taco Bell All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game, the State Farm Home Run Derby, and a skills clinic by the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation. In recognition of the long history of Negro League Baseball in Kansas City, participants also toured the National Negro League Baseball Museum.

MLB Hall of famer Tony Gwynn spoke to the Jr. RBI Classic players & coaches during a special Q&A session.
